Letter From Cardiovascular Imaging Program

Dear Fellowship Applicant,

Thank you for your interest in the Advanced Cardiac Imaging Program at the University of Utah. Our one-year program offers COCATS Level III training in cardiac MRI and CT. We foster robust collaborations in clinical, translational, and basic research across cardiology and radiology, including partnerships with PhD researchers and MRI physicists.

Our imaging fellows are an integral part of the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine and work with all cardiology sections including general cardiology, electrophysiology, interventional, and the heart failure/transplant service. The fellow’s specific clinical responsibilities include clarifying exam indications with referring physicians, designing protocols for CT and MRI studies, supervising imaging acquisition, interpreting all studies in collaboration with the attending on service, communicating relevant findings to the referring physicians, and educating the general cardiology fellows as they rotate on the service.

Fellows engage in didactic lectures covering a wide range of topics, including MRI physics. A key component of the program is the one-on-one teaching that occurs during the interpretation of MRI and CT cases, which offers substantial hands-on learning opportunities. The program is designed to support fellows in achieving their career aspirations and to cultivate their leadership skills in the field of advanced imaging.

We accept 1-2 candidates per year.  Qualified candidates will have completed an ACGME-accredited fellowship in cardiovascular disease and will have a valid U.S. medical license.

All interested applicants can apply by providing us with your CV, brief personal statement/career objectives, and three letters of recommendation (one from your program director).

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at (301) 455-3635.

Candidates are considered on a rolling basis.  Application materials should be sent to:
