Geriatrics Clinical Fellowship

Geriatrics Clinical Fellowship

Our training program features a variety of rotations representative of clinical opportunities for geriatrics.  Settings include an academic tertiary health care center, a regional Veterans Administration medical center and local continuing care retirement communities.

The core of the fellowship curriculum is based on longitudinal clinical experiences.  Fellows have a continuity clinic at the George E. Whalen Veterans Administration medical Center and the University of Utah Geriatrics Clinic.  These clinics offer exposure to a diverse older adult population in the spectrum of geriatric ambulatory primary care.  Fellows also follow a panel of patients in a long-term care setting.

Additional required clinical rotations include home-based primary care, skilled nursing post-acute care, cognitive disorders clinic, geriatric psychiatry clinic and a variety of ambulatory consultative clinics.
