After almost three years as a clinical research coordinator with our group, Heidi left the UVRL in August 2013 and is now working as a clinical trials coordinator at Gilead Sciences.
Steve Ives, PhD
After completing a doctorate and post-doctoral fellowship with our group, Dr. Ives left the UVRL in August of 2013 and is currently an assistant professor in the Department of Health and Exercise Science at Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, NY.
John McDaniel, PhD
After completing a post-doctoral fellowship with our group, Dr. McDaniel left the UVRL in October of 2010 and is currently an assistant professor in the Department of Exercise Physiology at Kent State University in Kent, Oh.
Anette Fjeldstad, PhD
After completing a post-doctoral fellowship with our group, Dr. Fjeldstad left the UVRL in August of 2011 and is currently an Assistant Professor of Kinesiology and Health Sciences at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia.
Amy Rogers, MS
After two years as a clinical research coordinator with our group, Amy left the UVRL in October 2014 and is now working as a clinical research coordinator in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Utah.
Zachary Barrett-O’Keefe, PhD
Dr. Barrett-O'Keefe successfully defended his doctoral dissertation in spring 2015, and is currently working as an echocardiographer at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN.
Simran Sidhu, PhD
After completing a post-doctoral fellowship with our group, Dr. Sidhu left the UVRL in June of 2015 and is currently a Lecturer in physiology at the University of Adelaide in Adelaide, South Australia.
Massimo Venturelli, PhD
Massimo was a postdoctoral Fellow at the UVRL from 2011-2013, and is now an Associate Professor in the Department of Neurosciences, Biomedicine, and Movement Sciences at the University of Verona.
Jon completed his doctoral work at the UVRL in 2015, and is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Biological Sciences at the University of Utah.
Joshua F. Lee, PhD
After completing a post-doctoral fellowship with our group, Dr. Lee left the UVRL in June of 2015 and is now working as a Senior Manager of Strategy & Business Development at Siemens Healthineers
Matthew J. Rossman, PhD
Dr. Rossman completed his doctoral training in 2015, and is currently an Assistant Research Professor in the Department of Integrative Physiology at the University of Colorado at Boulder.
Melissa A.H. Witman, PhD
After completing her doctoral work and a post-doctoral fellowship with our group, Dr. Witman left the UVRL in July of 2015, and is currently an assistant professor in the Department of Kinesiology and Applied Physiology at the University of Delaware in Newark, DE.
Ryan Garten, PhD
After completing a post-doctoral fellowship with our group, Dr. Garten left the UVRL in June of 2015 and is currently an assistant professor in the Department of Kinesiology and Health Sciences at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA.
Song-Young Park, PhD
After completing a post-doctoral fellowship with our group, Dr. Park left the UVRL in August of 2015 and is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Health and Kinesiology at the University of Nebraska at Omaha.
Corey Hart, PhD
Dr. Hart completed his graduate training at the UVRL in May of 2016, and is currently employed as a Lead Physiologist at the United States Air Force School of Aerospace Medicine at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base.
Jayson Gifford, PhD
Jayson completed his doctoral work (2015) and postdoctoral fellowship at the UVRL (2017). He is currently an Assistant Professor of Exercise Physiology and Gerontology at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah.
Simon Malenfant, PhD
After completing his first post-doctoral training year with our group, Dr. Malenfant left the UVRL in August of 2017 to accept a position as a medical student at Université Laval in Quebec City, Canada.
Thomas Hureau, PhD
After completing a post-doctoral fellowship with our group, Dr. Hureau left the UVRL in August of 2017 and is currently an Assistant Professor in Physiology at the University of Strasbourg University of Strasbourg in France
Ashley Nelson, MD
After completing his Fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine and several years as an Assistant Professor with our group, Dr. Nelson left the UVRL in 2017 and is currently an Internal Medicine Physician, specializing in Intensive Care. Dr. Nelson currently practices at several local hospitals, including Lakeview Hospital, St Mark's Hospital, and the Wyoming Medical Center.
Heather Clifton, PhD
After completing a post-doctoral fellowship with our group, Dr. Clifton left the UVRL in June of 2018 to accept a position as a Faculty Research Associate at the Naval Postgraduate School.
Oh Sung Kwon, PhD
After completing a post-doctoral fellowship with our group, Dr. Kwon left the UVRL in December of 2018 and is currently an Assisstant Professor of Kinesiology at the University of Connecticut.
Gwenael Layec, PhD
Dr. Layec joined the UVRL as a postdoctoral fellow in 2010. After completion of his fellowship and three years as a junior faculty member with our group, he left the UVRL in August of 2018, and is now an Assistant Professor in the School of Public Health and Health Sciences at the University of Massachusets Amherst.
Stephen M. Ratchford, PhD
Dr. Ratchford was a postdoctoral fellow at the UVRL from 2016 to 2019, and is now a Clinical Development Scientist at Philips in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
James Cerbie
After completing 2 years of training with our group, James left the UVRL in January of 2020 and moved to Santa Cruz, California to start his own performance-based company, Rebel Performance.
Josh Weavil, PhD
Josh completed his doctoral work (2015) and postdoctoral fellowship (2022) at the UVRL, and is currently working at Lipocine Inc. in Salt Lake City, UT.
Catherine Jarrett, PhD
Catherine was a postdoctoral fellow at the UVRL from 2017 - 2022, and is now an Assistant Professor of Nutrition and Exercise Physiology at Washington State University in Spokane, WA.
Jay Hydren, PhD
Jay completed his Ph.D. with our group in 2019 and was a postdoctoral fellow at the UVRL until 2022. He now serves as the Senior Director of Clinical Research at HealthTree Foundation in Lehi, Utah.
Michael Francisco, PhD
Mike was a postdoctoral fellow with our group from 2020 - 2022, and is now an Assistant Professor of Kinesiology at Sacramento State in Sacramento, CA.
Caitlyn Fermoyle, PhD
Caitlyn was a postdoctoral fellow at the UVRL from 2020-2022, and now resides in Brisbane, Australia.
Dr. Bisconti completed her postdoctoral fellowship in 2023, and is currently working as a Clinical Research Coordinator at the University of Utah.
Danilo Iannetta, PhD
Danilo was a postdoctoral fellow at the UVRL from 2022-2024, and is now a faculty member in Department of Clinical and Experimental Sciences at University of Brescia, Italy.
