Oncology Research

Research activities in the Division focus on clinical trials and translational research programs. Many of our faculty are lead researchers in their field, and all faculty are active in clinical trials. The majority of the Division’s research is conducted at the Huntsman Cancer Institute (HCI). HCI is an NCI designated Comprehensive Cancer Center and a member of the National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN). HCI has an outstanding history of academic achievement and impact, with $122M extramural grant funding in fiscal year 2023, a collaborative environment, and a commitment to excellence in patient care, research, teaching, training, community engagement, and service. HCI also collaborates with several research affiliates to advance cancer research: Intermountain Healthcare, George E. Wahlen Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center and ARUP Laboratories.
