Application

The advanced heart failure fellowship program accepts three fellows annually. 

We participate in the National Resident Matching Program®(NRMP®) and only accept applications and supporting documents via the Electronic Resident Application Service ®(ERAS®). Applications must be completed in full prior to interview. Please refer to our eligibility requirements.

  • Complete ERAS application
  • Curriculum vitae
  • Personal statement (career objectives, approximately one page in length)
  • USMLE scores, steps I,II and III
  • Three or more letters of recommendation (one from your program director)
  • Copy of green card or visa (J-1 only) if non-US citizen

ELIGIBILITY

To be eligible for the Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Fellowship, applicants must have successfully completed three years of cardiovascular disease fellowship training.

  • Graduate of a U.S. Canadian Medical School, or a medical school outside of the United States and Canada with a current valid certificate from the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG)
  • Graduate of an ACGME accredited or RCPSC accredited (Canadian) three year cardiovascular disease training program
  • All applicants must have taken and passed all three steps of USMLE exams. DO graduates must have taken and passed all three steps of COMPLEX USA

International Applicants

Intended to train and mentor exceptional candidates from outside the U.S. in both clinical care and research who intend to return to their home countries to develop and expand advanced heart failure, MCS, and transplant programs. ECFMG certification is not a requirement for an unaccredited training year.
