Genetic Epidemiology

The Genetic Epidemiology Research Program within the Division of Epidemiology is devoted to studying the role of genetic factors in determining health and disease in families and populations, and the interplay of such genetic factors with environmental factors. Our mission is to understand the genetic nature of complex diseases and to use this knowledge to treat, and eventually prevent, such illnesses.

We strive to:

  • Use clean, high quality data
  • Use both established and innovative data analysis methods
  • Work collaboratively with experts in multiple fields
  • Deliver results that expand the collective knowledge of the scientific community
