Database Studies

The Genetic Epidemiology program utilizes database resources to find patterns in genetic predispositions to various illnesses and diseases. Faculty in the Genetic Epidemiology program are working on the creation and analysis of a Genealogy/Medical Phenotype Resource in partnership with the Department of Veteran's Affairs databases. Additional database research is focused on discovering various aspects of human illness and injury, including:

Familiality Analysis

  • Gallstone disease
  • Spline disorders
  • Influenza
  • Predisposition to sepsis
  • Varicella zoster virus infection (shingles)
  • Stroke
  • Outcomes after traumatic injury
