Adam Strand, MD

I'm from Sioux Falls, South Dakota. I did medical school at University of South Dakota and then did a year of residency through the Air Force at Wright Patterson Air Force Base before becoming an Aerospace Medicine Physician for four years being stationed in Altus Air Force Base, OK. There I was an occupational and primary care provider for pilots and air traffic controllers and got to fly every week. After separating I went to University of Wisconsin in Madison, WI to finish my Internal Medicine residency and then took a job at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana-Champaign, IL prior to moving out to Utah. While in the Air Force I got a Master of Public Administration and Policy from American University in DC and hope to get involved in healthcare policy as a part of my career. In my free time I like going to concerts, traveling the world and doing anything outside (skiing, hiking, camping, trail running, on and on).

I'm from Toronto, Canada. I did my training programs in Yale-affiliated Griffin Hospital (IM) and Mayo Clinic (Geriatric). I've worked for University of Kentucky for 4 years being academic hospitalist (day, nights, triaging) and divisional IT director. I am an avid snowboard instructor! Highly interested on IT/EHR related workflow/clinical care quality enhancement. I also have great enthusiasm for teaching/mentoring learners.
