Health Care Without Walls
Project ECHO or Extension for Community Health Care Outcomes, is working to provide “health care without walls” by bridging the gap between primary and specialty care.
The mission of Project ECHO is to develop and enhance cost-free partnerships between community providers and a University of Utah interdisciplinary team of professionals to effectively treat chronic, common, and complex diseases in rural and urban underserved areas through the use of technology.
In addition to the Liver Care and Hepatitis C clinics, Project ECHO has added the Immune Disorder of the Gut Tele-ECHO™ which meets every other Tuesday from 07:30–08:30 MST. Dr. Kathleen Boynton is the mentor for this far-reaching discipline and is heavily supported by the entire IBD faculty from the Division of Gastroenterology.
GI Faculty Hepatologist, Dr. Terry Box is the director of Project ECHO at the University of Utah.
