Dr. Andrew Gawron Appointed Associate Program Director for VA National Gastroenterology Program

Dr. Andrew Gawron has accepted an appointment with Veteran's Affairs as the Associate Program Director for the VA National Gastroenterology Program, effective July 1, 2020.

The VHA Gastroenterology and Hepatology program collaborates with Network and Medical Center Directors to assure that top quality gastroenterology and hepatology services, not limited to but including Endoscopy, and Hepatology, outpatient and inpatient gastroenterology, are made available, immediately accessible, and efficiently provided to all eligible Veterans, as clinically indicated.

In his new position, Dr. Gawron will support initiatives and provide advisory and consultative services for the Gastroenterology programs under the leadership of the National Program Director (NPD), Dr. Jason Dominitz. He will also assist the NPD in determining the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on VHA Gastroenterology services and developing action plans for ensuring continued access to high quality GI care for Veterans.
