Dr. Tuan Pham Nominated for Leonard W. Jarcho, MD, Distinguished Teaching Award

The Department of Internal Medicine and the Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition would like to recognize Dr. Tuan Pham, MD, Assistant Professor in the Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition, following his nomination for this year's Leonard W. Jarcho, MD, Distinguished Teaching Award. This award honors a faculty member who recognizes teaching is their most important responsibility. This outstanding medical educator demonstrates exceptional skill and dedication in teaching and advising medical students, interns, residents or fellows. Nominations are recieved from the graduating Medical Student Class of 2020 as well as students and faculty from the University of Utah School of Medicine. To be nominated is a distinct honor. 

One of the nomination paragraphs submitted highlights the impact Dr. Pham has had on his students. This student describes Dr. Pham as being "the perfect combination of humor, enthusiasm, intelligence, and kindness." They express that he made their rounds not only bearable, but enjoyable. This student described how Dr. Pham would spend extra time discussing the patients with them and truly seemed to care and acknowledge the contributions of his medical students. It is clear that Dr. Pham has made a signficant impact in this students education and has no doubt done the same for many others.
