#ProudtobeGIM Events

On Wednesday, February 5, the Division of General Internal Medicine hosted its first #ProudtobeGIM event to a packed room of faculty, residents and students from across all divisions in the Department of Internal Medicine. Dr. Michael Incze, MD, spoke on the important role that general internists play in ending the opioid epidemic in the United States, while attendees proudly sported #ProudtobeGIM badges.

This event was held in honor of #ProudtobeGIM week, taking place February 24-28, 2020. The #ProudtobeGIM campaign was launched in 2015 by the Society of General Internal Medicine (SGIM), and aims to expose medical students and residents to career opportunities in general internal medicine and leadership opportunities in patient care, research, health policy, and medical education. In October 2019, the Division of General Internal Medicine announced they were among only 20 institutions nationwide selected for #ProudtobeGIM funding.
