Sara Knight
Professor
Epidemiology

Dr. Knight received both her MA in Counseling Psychology, and PhD in Clinical Psychology from Southern Illinois University. Her research interests include health services research, vulnerable populations, measurement of patient values, genomics and precision medicine, cancer prevention and control, and palliative care. She is involved in a number of professional organizations, and is a founding chair of the Health Decision Making special interest group through the Society of Behavioral Medicine. Previously, Dr. Knight served as professor with the Division of Preventive Medicine at the University of Alabama’s School of Medicine in Birmingham.

Kori Brown

Kori Brown is originally from Southern Utah, but now lives in Layton, UT with her husband. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Family Life & Human Development from Southern Utah University. In 2018, she graduated with her Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Utah. Kori spent time working with Veterans at the VA Medical Center before joining the University’s Dialysis Program. She now serves as the Social Worker for both Lakeside Dialysis in Bountiful and Farmington Bay Dialysis in Layton. She is a dog-lover and spends all her time spoiling her puppy.

Hayden Bush

Hayden was born in Salt Lake City; however, he has lived all across the US and  loves all the associated adventures. He spent his childhood in Park City where he spent the majority of his time skiing, hiking, and enjoying the outdoors. He graduated from the University of Utah with a degree in Health Promotion and Education with an emphasis in wildnerness medicine. Hayden is passionate about  medicine and is particularly drawn to the element of research in medicine.

Kristi Karren

Kristi knew from a young age that she wanted to be a nurse, like Florence Nightingale. She wanted to make a difference and help those in need. After having worked in maternity at IHC for the past 14 years, Kristi decided she wanted to expand her career and learn something new. This led to her to her new role in dialysis. She has been interested in dialysis since her great uncle spent the last few years of his life on dialysis.  
Kristi was born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah. She loves to travel, enjoys reading, and spending time at her condo in St. George.

Brice Terpstra
Senior Research Analyst
Epidemiology

Brice has moved to Utah from Illinois. He is a Senior Research Analyst for the TORCH Lab in the Division of Epidemiology. He holds an MS in criminal justice sciences. Prior to joining the team, Brice served as a Project Manager for a National Institute of Justice research study ‘Exploring the Life-Course and Daily Experiences of Veteran Offenders in the Criminal Justice System’. His primary interests include mental illness, policy, and veterans.
