Katherine Anderson, MD
Assistant Professor (Clinical)
Geriatrics

Katherine graduated from the University of Washington School of Medicine in Seattle and continued her training in Internal Medicine at the University of Utah. She went on to complete a fellowship in Clinical Geriatric Medicine followed by an Advanced Fellowship in Geriatrics with a focus on education and faculty development. She is board certified in Internal Medicine and Geriatric Medicine.

She is the lead physician for the Hospital Elder Life Program (HELP) a program aimed at preventing delirium in patients over 70 that are admitted to the University Hospital.

She is the Director of the Clinical Method Curriculum, a four-year learning community-based doctoring course for medical students at the University of Utah, and is the Assistant Fellowship Director for Geriatrics. Dr. Anderson played a key roll in developing the current Interprofessional Education Program for University Health Sciences. She is a Fellow in the Academy of Health Science Educators, serves on the Editorial Board for the Education Committee of the American Geriatrics Society and is an active member of the American Geriatrics Society Teachers and Interprofessional Education sections.

Luke Gessel, MD

Luke received his MD from Ohio State University in Ohio. He completed a residency at the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine and a fellowship at the University of New Mexico School of Medicine. He is board certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology.

Ming Lim, MBBCH, MS

Hematology

Dr. Lim earned her medical degree at Cambridge University, England and completed her two-year Foundation Training in the United Kingdom. She then completed a residency in internal medicine at the Mayo Clinic Rochester and fellowship training in hematology and oncology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Dr. Lim’s clinical expertise is in the field of hemostasis and thrombosis, specifically in the management of patients with congenital bleeding disorders. Her research interest is focused on complications affecting patients with congenital bleeding disorders, specifically hemophilia patients with inhibitors.

Dr. Lim is actively involved in the American Society of Hematology (ASH) and the Hemostasis and Thrombosis Research Society (HTRS). She serves as the Co-Chair for the HTRS Junior Faculty Network and is a committee member for the HTRS Trainee Workshop with the goal to attract trainees to the field of non-malignant hematology.

Pace Romney, MD

Nephrology

Pace received his MD at the American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine in Coral Gables, FL. He went on to complete a residency at the Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital and is currently a nephrology fellow at the University of Utah.

Takayuki Suzuki, MD

Gastroenterology

Takayukurecieved his MD from the Showa University School of Medicine in Tokyo, Japan. He interned at the US Naval Hospital in Japan and went on to complete residencies in Japan and at the University of Hawaii. He completed fellowship training at the University of Utah.

Tiffany Volden, MD

Geriatrics

Tiffany received her BS in Human Biology from Chadron State College in Chadron, NE and her MD  from the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha. She completed her residency and a fellowship in Salt Lake City. She is now working at the VA where she provides geriatric care to our veterans. She enjoys completing geriatric assessments and incorporating narrative medicine into her practice.

She grew up on a farm in western Nebraska. Outside of work, she takes every opportunity to travel the country with her husband: they hope to visit every National Park.

Patricia Braun

As an executive assistant, Patricia has worked in academia, finance, and medicine, beginning with Harvard Medical School, Harvard Business School, Bank of America, and most recently at C.R. Bard’s Salt Lake City division.
She has lived in Salt Lake for seven years and enjoys discovering what's new in the art and food scene. She also volunteers with a non-profit organization that serves under-educated and under-employed women.

Adia Clark

Adia comes from a big family that is committed to helping others and giving back. She attended Weber State University before returning to Salt Lake City where she got a job working for House of Hope. It is there she felt she could make a difference. She worked there for two years before becoming a case manager for Valley Behavioral Health's CORE program for women with addiction and mental health issues. She has also worked at Highland Ridge Hospital as a safety tech, at TEVA Pharmaceuticals as an operator, and at Nelson Laboratories as a lab tech. 

She is an easy-going person and she loves meeting new people, learning, and trying new things.
